This work is part of an ongoing research project called The Cosmology of a Flower. It engages with the idea that flowers are earthly reflections of celestial bodies. Inspired by the book The Life of Plants, from philosopher Emanuele Coccia, this project explores the visual and conceptual resemblance of flowers and stars, echoing their singular relationship, one mediated by light.
Inspired by the sinusoidal waves which appear in grass fields as a wind blows over them, this work is an exploration of the curve, and the movement which can rise from a slow variation of shape through repetition.
